☆ Ceres was discovered in 1801 and is the largest asteroid in the main asteroid belt. 

☆ The NASA Dawn spacecraft arrived at Ceres on March 6, 2015, with a mission to understand this primitive asteroid. The Dawn spacecraft images revealed a heavily cratered surface with many interesting features such as cryovolcanoes, landslides and bright spots. 

☆During this talk, Dr. Z will discuss the origins and properties of Ceres and his own personal research on the dwarf planet.
