☆On October 20, 2020, the spacecraft OSIRIS-REx landed on asteroid Bennu! ☆This was our first attempt to pogo off an asteroid in order to collect samples. The samples from this mission returned to Earth in 2023. ☆During this talk, Dr. Z will discuss the origins and composition of active asteroid Bennu, what makes up the Apollo group of asteroids, NASA’s plans for these near-Earth objects, the OSIRIS-REx Mission and sample return, and where the mission is headed next!🌌🚀 This program is for adults, suitable for ages 10+. Registration is required whether you are attending in person or via Zoom.
